Hello guys! Today we are going to talk about the sliders.
We have made a system of sliders to pick up the cubes easily. At first we made it with 2 long bars and a servomotor, but we realised that we needed the sliders to do more than just picking up cubes. We needed them to set a determined position to place the robot near the nuclear plant, so we connected two type of sensors: the contact sensor (which sets the start position of the sliders) and the magnetic sensor (which sets the limit position and the drop in the nuclear plant position).
We also added a “Manual control” for the sliders with the joystick in the y axis. This was added because sometimes our sliders run on the wrong way. So we move them to the start position again.
